Yes I have the Scorpion one, was my dads, and I used it a lot, until I got the Lidi multi-garden tool, looks like thisThere is the B & D Alligator saw, which seems a lot safer, but I haven't met anyone who has got one.
but one shown is tool station. 40 volt (two batteries) with strimmer/brush cutter, hedge cutter, and lopper (little chain saw) on a stick, and in spite of the problem controlling a chain saw on a stick, it was so much easier to use to the alligator saw, it has stayed in its case since getting the 4 in one.The hedge cutter was useless, too weak, the brush cutter and chain saw was great, I have basic same thing from Aldi with a leaf blower as well, but petrol, so never used since the Lidi battery one was got.
On the other scale for small things, again a Lidi multi-tool, sander, pung saw (useless) and pad saw.
The latter not quite as good as the Scorpion saw, but cordless, so unless doing a lot, easier to use the pad saw to getting out leads to use the Scorpion saw.So yes the Scorpion saw would cut a sleeper, where that was too big for the pad saw (basic a jig saw with a heavier longer blade) but the chain saw is that much faster, it has made the Scorpion saw redundant.
What I want now is a hedge cutter stand alone on a stick, which uses Lidi batteries. The way the multi-tool ones head hinges is the problem, the stand alone one uses a different method.
Oh, my Scorpion saw is reciprocal it is not a chain saw, it must be at least 20 year old now. Basic an electric one of these
Problem with Lidi, you have to wait for them to be in stock,
