Help !!

Trying to fit a new cooker hood and thought (probably wrongly) that I could attach a 3 pin plug and plug it in and away we go.

Two questions:

I have read on here that this is ok but use a 3 amp fuse in the plug ?

Secondly, the cable that has been supplied with the unit is not long enough to reach the socket - without taking the whole unit apart to fit a longer cable (nigh on impossible due to its design) what are my options ?

Use a junction box and attach new cable and what size cable do I need ?

Or any other ideas ?

Any help would be appreciated.

you can wang a plug on it, with a 3 amp fuse, but where are you plugging it in? Where will the wire run?

Wire will go over the top of the wall cabinet that supports it on right hand side, then behind those cabinets and down to a double plug socket that is mounted in the furthest cabinet away from the hood.

How can I extend the cable ? Wire it into a junction box and what size cable do i need to go to the plug ?
