My builder is using an electrician, so not a DIY job, but I am doing the plans, and he asked me to draw up a plan of where I want sockets, switches etc. Also plumbing notes. So, here it is. Anything obvious I have missed?

Presumably the smaller rooms and hall already have sockets/lights, as none are shown?

Kitchen needs a heat detector, and the lounge should have a smoke detector as well.

Cooker? Make sure there is a 30amp or greater cooker circuit provision in the kitchen, for future use if not needed now.

We are probably not going to have wall cupboards in the kitchen, just shelves. Do people put lighting under shelves? I guess harder to hide away the cables?

Cooker, yes, I marked OV for oven circuit. And G for gas.

Yes, nightmare lighting up shelves, forget it.

Where are you going to keep your crockery? It's back-breaking putting it all in base cupboards after washing up.

OK, maybe wall cupboards.

We are on a tight budget. So the idea is to do the bare minimal in the kitchen to start with (plumbing, electrics, gas, sink unit) and then sort the rest out when I have some more cash. So the side with the oven will be empty, probably will just use some shelving in the mean time ....

New plan with TV, CAB, CAT6, SPK...
