Hello all
Can anyone tell me were the bleed vent is on this boiler. The oil ran out
and since the tank was filled it will not run, just keeps spluttering then stops
thanks in advance
On the oil pump!
Slacken the connection on the flexi inlet hose until there are no bubbles.
This will usually be enough to prime the pump.
Sometimes there is an obvious bleed nipple, but make sure you dont touch pressure adjustment.
Alternatively send for "engineer" (I use this term very loosely as many have just emerged from an OFTEC assessment center).
Thank you terrywookfit for your reply and help some members seem to just want to be smart ******s on this forum! A bit of common
sense would have showen I could not bleed oil from the boiler it was the burner I was referring to !! To quick to try and be clever I think.
I am not an engineer but this is the simple way to get the boiler going again after running out of oil.
Mine was a Sterling ST 50 (Bentone) - well thats what is says on the boiler!
Assuming it does not need bled - look at the temperature gauge on the boiler - beside it is a black "knob" - turn it and take it off. It reveals a little white 'thing' push it and that should let you hear the wonderful noise of a firing boiler.
