This Enlite downlights had been fitted only for 1 year and 2 of them started blinking recently.

I thought I could just change the led bulb but there is none when I took it down.

Do I have to change the whole unit? If so, how do I do that? It seem to be connected to the wire at the top and not an adapter that I can simply plug in and out.

Thanks

Changing the entire fitting is required. The wiring needs to be transferred to the new fitting.

Thanks. Are they easy to change?

I can’t possibly be paying an electrician to change them every time one of them fails.

If led lights are economical, the cost of paying electricians every time these lights blows will more than outweigh the benefit of these led light.

One cable , going to the light fitting. How difficult can it be ?

Thanks I will give it a go.

Will definitely change them to something with a replaceable lamp. Hopefully won’t have to mess about with the wiring.

Changing a bulb is manageable but not confident with wires

Change them for a type with a replaceable lamp.
He's right, you know.

Integrated LED spots are bloody rubbish.

Use GU10 fittings, then there's only the lamp (bulb) to change.

Otherwise you will be changing the entire fittings on a regular basis for the rest of your life.

Slightly off topic, I remember my sparky told me you need to replace the whole module, but how did you get it out? I feel if I yank it any harder the plaster board will break!

Some of the Enlite use push in connections, yours may be similar, under the orange cover that clips off.

Newer ones now have the wiring into a Plug/Socket arangement
