EU trade deal deadline is real this time

All of Daily Express and other similar claims of "EU backing down" "EU panicking" etc etc is jingoistic fodder for brexiteer muppets.

What is fact is that the UK will be damaged more by any Brexit trade threats in all scenarios.

It would help if you browsed the link, it refers to the UK backing down.

You can't help but jump in feet first can you.

Yes I know that, I read it

Your response to Noesall was that it was only one experts opinion....I was providing a wider context, not a simplistic response

'I'll cut off my own dick, don't think I won't,' Johnson threatens EU (thedailymash.co.uk)

BORIS Johnson has threatened the EU with severing his own penis unless he is given the free trade deal he wants.

The prime minister held a carving knife above his member and told Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, that if she did not drop level playing field requirements he was not afraid to start cutting.

She said: “We had moved on from fishing rights onto the question of whether British citizens deserve employment rights – I believe they do – when Mr Johnson without warning dropped his trousers.

“He told me that unless I gave into his demands there and then, John Thomas was hitting the floor.

“I flinched, because though I am German I did not want to see this, which seemed to make him think his ultimatum was working. ‘I’ll do it,’ he said, ‘I’m a f**king madman. Now let’s talk maternity leave.’

“I said ‘But to cut das glied would be an act of self-harm-’ before he interrupted, shouting ‘No state aid limits! No tariffs! Full sovereignty now!’ and raised his knife hand high. I fled the room to his shouts of ‘I win!’

“Later he emailed me, with the subject line ‘This goes up Gove’s arse unless you give in on Northern Ireland’, and an attachment. I have not opened the attachment.”

Current thinking is Boris will announce a no deal this afternoon and will blame the French and wider EU.

Given that Boris has been hostage to the brextremist ERG that is no surprise.....Boris always thinks short term and no deal gets him a win with the nutters.

Of course he'll blame the French, they're the ones who sabotaged any chance of a deal. The Irish won't be happy with Macron.

"Michel Barnier tells EU officials he ‘cannot guarantee’ Brexit trade deal

Sterling falls as Brussels’ chief negotiator warns that significant obstacles remain

The EU’s chief negotiator told the bloc’s national ambassadors and MEPs that important sticking points remained ahead of UK prime minister Boris Johnson’s stocktaking call with European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen at 4pm on Monday.

In closed-door meetings on Monday morning, Mr Barnier said that about 10 hours of talks with his UK counterpart David Frost and his team on Sunday had failed to yield breakthroughs on the main outstanding issues of fishing rights in UK waters and fair competition rules for business.

He dismissed claims that a deal on fisheries was at hand, despite negotiators working until midnight, and insisted that talks remained difficult. He told MEPs that the talks were in their final days, with Wednesday in effect the deadline, according to one participant at the meeting.

Only the Brextremists will be happy.

Worst kept secret of the last 4 years.Fukem.

The fridge dweller is apparently wavering...

Possibly going back on his promise to break international law.

But only if there is a deal which isn't likely atm...

:) Thought I'd collect some quotes as I read though ;) Sorry mate but only ones worth while

I care about what happens to our country.
:ROFLMAO::eek::cry::LOL:

Indeed, German car manufacturing

You don't think those that do wont carry on buying brand new merc's and bmw's. We clearly don't buy any from France according to you too and don't forget VW. That leaves us with Chinese kit cars and Landrovers. Maybe cheaper from Japan and Korea but we have little to sell to them. Not sure where all Fords and Vauxhalls are made as they move around so pass on what come from where on them.

We still do have companies that sell parts to them all.

The EU backed down over post-Brexit fishing arrangements on Sunday night

Rumour pure and simple. No one is sure of what is going on even a head of the EU. They want a summary of exactly what the sticking points are. It's being prepared.

The other problem is the number of countries in the EU. It's not a state ;) pity really we could have LOT less politicians. How can anyone negotiate a deal with a state that isn't. Any agreement has to be ratified by all.

I can't discuss it John I'm in 'the tunnel' at the moment.

Yes of course you would blame Macron, typical brexiteer who won't take responsibility for your actions.

I see Boris has caved in and agreed to drop internal Market bill bolox that was just a pathetic threat which he has realised hasn't worked.
