You'd struggle to get it in there mate

Monkeh may have "any number of ways to get that out" but a layman shouldn't have to have specialist knowledge in order
to take out a fuse?
Hoof pick.
There is only 2cm between the slot & the side of the cupboard, and the fuseholder is a tight fit - you would need something with a bend in the shaft but a flat thin blade (so a tack lifter will not do.) I have a fair set of tools, but nothing that would do.I don't think there is a requirement that the fuse must be removed using an average length screwdriver though, is there?

I don't recognise Mr Tinker's implement and wonder if it would work in the limited space.
I'm thinking of replacing the SFCU (and the FCU below it) with MK units which have horizontal fuse holders held by screws.
Can you tell me what that tool is called, please?I don't recognise Mr Tinker's implement and wonder if it would work in the limited space.
Yes it would definitely work! I have it for instances just like yours(amongst others) where some silly sausage has fitted something, in a way where access is very limited.
Not often, I hope - but if I do want to replace it (or take it out to make sure that the handwash is off) I want to do so in a few seconds. How often does the fuse need replacing?
I much prefer the MK ones with a retaining screw. When you undo the screw it pushes the fuse carrier out. No need to lever it out.
Sounds like you are clumsier than meFor the first time you use them, they are junk after that,
