External outside socket advice

Can I add an external socket for the back wall of the house onto an existing ring? Or does it have to have it's own RCD?

Yes you can fit an external socket.
You say to an existing ring. How do you know that it is a ring final circuit? (If it is then yes)
If the circuit is RCD protected then you do not need a socket with another RCD.

I'm replacing the whole kitchen ring. I wanted to check if it was ok to include an external socket on this ring. I get now that I can do that, as long as the ring has RCD protection, which I'll put in.
