I'm in the middle of building a fence and laying down some chippings. I've dug out ready for a sub base, my plan was to just stick some Mot type 1 down and compact it, then a layer of sand, then gravel grids and back fill. Somebody has now told me that the Mot type 1 may cause drainage issues?? It's only a small area 4.5m X 6.4m (pic attached)

Do I need to consider extra drainage?

The wall underneath the fence on the right is a 4 foot retaining wall

Thanks

Mot will allow water to pass through even on a porous sheet.
Cant see a problem , the whole area will just act as a large soak away
