Steve Baker, the renowned liar "claimed" TM had talks about another deal. No other news organisations have reported it. Nor does the Express (intensely anti-EU) sanction it either.

Do try harder boyo. Learn the difference between fact and fantasy, especially when your sources are renowned fibbers.

so that's a no then , can not see any evidence he was wrong , maybe you people that seem to spend most of your lives on here (10 .20 , even some sad gits @ 30k posts+) I am not going to waste my life on here to go round and round with some sad traitor remoaners , going out now, so long losers.

I don't understand how you can argue your point.

Steve Baker lied to the house of commons which he had to apologise.

However, Mr Grant immediately denied having suggested there was a deliberate civil service plot to undermine Brexit or influence policy – a claim later confirmed by the release of an audio recording of the event, at last year’s Conservative conference, at which he is said to have made the remark.

Why such a long winded response if your only replying to Boddism

well calling my reply drivel is an insult. it does not strengthen your POV
You have a fair point. It is easy to sink into the tribal nature of Brexit.....which doesnt achieve anything.

you know full well May did not even try for a good deal , it was not a matter of numbers
To be quite frank, I think its hard to prove either way.
I know Leavers often claim TM was a leaver and never tried toleave.....but I cant see there is any evidence.
It is true that the numbers in parliament, meant TM had little power and she tried to appease all sides of her party and negotiate with the EU.

However TM was a terrible leader, she didnt include her cabinet in discussions.

As a self proclaimed expert on brexit , I am surprised you do not know of the Tusk deal turned down by May.
I am not an expert, all I try to do is have a debate, deal with the issues seriously -I want people to present a counter argument. And in fact your points regarding Tusk offering a Canada type deal is a valid point. So is May being a remainer.

I dont remember the Tusk deal as such, but yes it is true TM ignored it and persued the Chequers deal.

your playground insults do not bother me , it just puts you in the group of six prix

Thank you for posting the video, Ive watched about 10mins, Ill try and look at the rest -but it is over an hour.

The questions really come down to whether Tusk was actually offering a deal rather than part of EU media spin, afterall Tusk was not Brexit negotiator, that was Barnier.

The deal mentioned was a type of Canada deal. The poont you argue depends on the suitability of such a deal and how it compares.

My initial inderstanding is:
It would require a hard Irish border
It would require hard borders between UK and EU with checks, rules of origin etc
It doesnt cover services

My understanding is it can all be done beforehand on line and no border controls..Cameras,,satellites,,internet tech....how hard can it be!!!!

The Irish border is 500km long...

You may be able to track lorries on roads, but not all of what's in them - unless you have a physical/human presence on said border and everything was laboriously checked...

And as for 'off road', then forget trying to track people.

Which means that there would then have to be a border between the N.I. and mainland UK to prevent those freely entering into N.I. from the republic of Ireland getting into mainland UK...

Unless of course you have a Berlin wall type of scenario in mind?

All of this merely hastens the prospect of a united island of Ireland...
(I give it 10 years in the event of a no-deal)

Your 'understanding' is thus not very good is it

And as it stands now. These lorries can be checked? Or does smuggling not exist if in the EU

There is no physical border, and putting one up would be against the good friday agreement...

Or does smuggling not exist if in the EU
That depends on if you mean legal or illegal traffic...

Since there are no tariffs then you can happily transport whatever legal goods you like between countries...

Illegal goods smuggling will carry on, irrespective of whether there is a border or not...

So guns drugs people can be smuggled without a sweat.... And your worried about cans of beans and potatoes?
