They do know however that in order to sow discord in The West, their best chance is to encourage and support right wing populism i.e. Trump, Brexit etc, as it causes instability and appeals to morons and causes hatred amongst native citizens.

Russia is ruled by an antidemocratic dictatorial fascist. Far right (politics) yes. Russian citizens do what Moscow tell them to do or else they are killed or imprisoned for life.
