Trying desperately to think of my total car list now....

Beetle (M Reg, before I was 17, which my Dad proceeded to **** up by 'helping' me with a Baja conversion)
Granada
Mk 1 Fiesta van
Mk2 Escort (R Reg)
Mk 1 Fiesta (X Reg)
Mk 2 Fiesta (F Reg)
Mk 3 Capri (A Reg)
Another Mk 3 Capri (A Reg)
Toyota Carina II (H Reg)
Toyota Corolla (T Reg)
Rover 620 (N Reg)
Audi A6 (03 Reg)
Citroen Xsara Picasso (03 Reg)
Another Audi A6 (03 Reg)
Renault Grand Scenic (55 Reg)

Nothing exciting really, though you can probably spot when I started getting company cars......

Talking of Baja beetles, I'm just restoring a tamiya sand scorcher beetle, these little models cost more than the actual cars.

Good fun though.

And you'd think that BJ originated in Soho, but it was in fact in Suffolk. Bootiful!

No, B originates in Birmingham.... at least for the new system.

Some areas are split so you can say for example that London Wimbledon is LA-LJ.

However, Birmingham does not have this luxury- BA-BY covers the whole of Brum.

Softus: Just twigged where you gone wrong, mate!

When that list says "BJ" is Suffolk, it's talking about the old plate system, eg:

A123 ABJ

Where the "BJ" is the identifier for Ipswich. My old Alfa was TGL NNNS, where "GL" identified Truro as the place of registration.

Similarly, my old Rekord was PMA NNNV, where "MA" was the place of registration, ie Chester. And my old Metro CNNN FVU was registered in Manchester ("VU").

Get the idea?
See here:http://www.ukcar.com/features/area.htm

I prefer the Sud Sprint. Designed by Guigaro, not unlike the Scirroco, which was styled by the same geezer!

Um, no, you haven't got it yet.

BJ? Soho? Need I spell it out?

Could be worse, could be grimsby.

Best car my old Audi S2 Quattro turbo, what a stonker. Arnie Schwartznegger body styling, full black leather interior digital dashboard (absolutely c**p, if I'm honest) 5 cylinders.

A true classic.
nothing wrong with grimbo.lots of fish.crap shopping centre, loads of unemployed and fish factories. :)

I had the dubious pleasure of spending a work related weekend up in Grimsby, I have to say it an awful place. Sorry Grimsby.

Mind you on the up side the pubs were cheap, but I did get chatted up by a middle aged slapper, much to my workmates hilarity.
