Hi There

I can't increase the pressure in my boiler as the filling key/knob is broken and access is almost impossible to replace it. I would like to fit a filling loop downstairs. Can I simply do this by connecting my already bought filling loop kit to the cold water main supply and the c/h supply which are 2 15mm pipes next to eachother?

Many thanks

Stuart

sounds ok, but ideally you need to be able to see the gauge so that you know when to turn off!

and the check valve goes on the heating side of the loop. Some filling loop kit are assembled the wrong way.

cold main > stop tap > loop > check valve (with tap?) > heating pipe

cold main > stop tap > loop > check valve (with tap?) > heating pipe

FFS

Read G24.2 etc

The double check valve should be fitted to the COLD MAIN side.

99% of filling loops are illegaly installed with the check valve on the heating side since they only incorporate one isolating valve. The check valves become contaminated and can't cope with the chemicals and the heat. Eventually they no longer prevent backflow and since there is only a single isolating valve the loop is left connected...contravening water regs and risking backflow.

Quality loops incorporate two isolating valves (and caps).

I like to drink inhibitor what's wrong with you Gas?
