So I've got to the point now where I've got the floor to tile, and then a small section underneath the batten runs on the wall.
Just had a friend in who's a builder and he's told me to finish the floor (e.g. tile) and then put my sink and toilet down afterwards. I said to him I've read if you put the basin/toilet on the tiles won't they crack? He should no, plus save yourself having to cut tiles around the pedestal + pan. Tile is 8mm thick ceramic. He also said he secures toilets and basins with sanitary silicone.. said I don't need to worry about using fixings as the silicone will hold it fast to the wall, so tight once it's go off that I won't be able to pull it off without cracking the tiles..
Opinions on this ?
