I have just bought this house and want to get rid of the electric fire and fireplace. The fireplace is on an internal wall and there is a chimney breast on the other side. There are some small damp patches next to this fire place and the seller has covered up the vent with the fireplace so I am hoping revealing it will get rid of the damp. How do I remove the fire and fireplace? Tia.

It might be lowered onto screw, so might be able to lift it off. As for the electrics, if it’s on a plug top, unplug it, if not then safely removed from connection. Revealing the vent should aid with the damp yes.

Google the unit and see if you can find the installation instructions.
