Hello.
This is my first post. If i have to replace a pir on the above system (optima) or remove it for decorating. I need to know how to remove the sensor without setting off the bell box siren outside. I can omit a pir zone. However, if i enter the engineers mode which i can will this prevent the pir setting off the bell. I think there is more to it.
Also, having replaced the sensor how do i re-enable the pir zone again.
many thanks for any help from anyone

engineers code, link in the zone, disconnect the power to the sensor, replace, reconnect power remove link

Fair point its internals only on that system for tamper, but that is annoying enough.

However if hes decorating it may be wise to link out the zone until the unit is back in place properly.

As for removing the power at the panel for the device before opening the device that's more about them shorting the power and blowing the fuse, I believe the fuse for the bell is shared with the supply in this model(have to check the manual), so shorting the pir power terminals could trigger the bell when the fuse blows??

Then again that would depend on the bell that's wired up and if that had battery backup?

Be aware though I came a cross a modern pcb in an old panel last week, so somethings weren't behaving as expected, so you can't always go with the name on the box.
