fixing floor tiles to a wall!?!!?!!

hi, i have just bought some beautiful limestone effect floor tiles, when i was at the showroom i asked if floor tiles can be fitted to a wall and was assured they could, is this true as i really want to do this?any help will be greatly appreciated
ps anyone know of a good (cheap) tiler in newcastle upon tyne?

the tiles do not know if they are floor or wall tiles, so they will not mind where they go

cheers, thought it would be ok it was just the weight issue i was worried about, also will it be ok to tile over original tiles?cheers
