Flag dynamics

Yes, but it's rubbish and it looks like a badly written short essay. That's why many of their supporters opt use the flag of Palestine instead. Nobody has time to read an essay during a skirmish.

Oh look - a dismissive attitude to words written using letters you don't recognise.

What does that say about you, and your level of respect for other cultures?

Tell me something; have you seen any news reports showing any of the Mamas actions?

Are you talking about the green backed one. Or the white backed one.

Hamas are the elected and well supported leaders of palestine, so of course the flag you fly so proudly is heavily related to hamas and everything that terrorist organisation does

Elected yes, in 2006, but after the split with Fatah a year later, and with them now only "in charge" in the Gaza Strip, I'd question "well supported".

But be that as it may, I'm not "proudly flying a flag", I'm using it as my avatar to signal my support for the state of Palestine.

If the flag of Palestine is "heavily related" to a terrorist organisation, why aren't the Union Jack and English flags "heavily related" to terrorist organisations in the UK?

You can't have it both ways.

when i was harassed by thugs at waverly station they were all flying the same colours as you so proudly fly, i certainly relate the two very closely.

And elsewhere the police have been more than harrassed by people flying the same colours of which you are proud.

What is your point, other than wanting to have it both ways?

Are you talking about the green backed one. Or the white backed one.
It's the green one which has a lot of text, the white one has some text but not as much.

Which one was Ollyfp talking about?

That "culture" you are respecting is the flag of the military wing of H-a-m-a-s -

Ollyfp didn't say "it's rubbish and it looks like a badly written short essay. That's why many of their supporters opt use the flag of Palestine instead. Nobody has time to read an essay during a skirmish" because it's the flag of Hamas.

He said it because it's written in Arabic.

I wonder what people like Munroast will do/say when the UK recognises Palestine and this "terrorist" flag is flying from an embassy in London. Or Buck House if there's a state visit?

I say screw the connotations (over which you have no control) and just do what you feel is right!
Thanks, and I do.

I refuse to fly any flag, simpley because I do not want to be associated with those that do, and spred them everywhere.

Call these patriots? Potentially damaging 1 of our most historic sites... . Thugs , nothing less.

It strikes me that you're desperate to find a sparring partner on this subject. Suffice to say, Hamas is on the naughty list for good reason. I don't care what it says on their flag, and I won't be giving them any more oxygen on this thread.
I sense that there's a reasonable human being with a clever sense of humour behind your vitriol, but sadly, I don't have time to test that theory.

Hamas is on the naughty list for good reason.

But that has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with this:

it looks like a badly written short essay.

I don't care what it says on their flag, and I won't be giving them any more oxygen on this thread.

And yet you were one of those who started talking about Hamas because I have not-a-Hamas flag as my avatar.

I sense that there's a reasonable human being with a clever sense of humour behind your vitriol,

Shall I ask you to show where I've written anything which can be classed as "vitriol"?
