Simple question really, i'm having a new boiler fitted which requires 22mm gas pipe instead of the 15mm already fitted.

Can you use speed fittings and flexi pipe couplings with gas pipes ??

Thanks in advance

as scat say NO WAY

really just because gas doesnt produce enough pressure to seal the speed fit correctly

Just what I was told by an HEP20 rep

dont know or care if its right but if speed fot is used you will be in a heap of trouble with H&S believe it

DONT DO IT

Thanks for that fellas, is it because of the pressure of the gas being lower then ??

oh thats me trying to be clever lol... never mind .. failed again . :)

I believe they'er working on one for installs other than the one in GI, looks like a long catering hose to me,

DO NOT use any plastic pipe or fittings for gas, what happens if theres a fire? i thought this would be obvious to anyone with common sense.

OK, again thanks for the info.

Does this mean copper compression fittings can be used though ??

What he actually means is can he do it himself and what does he need

just get the job done properly by a rgi .you only get one shot at gas so dont mess around. Why do you think rgi spend all there hard earned money to train, it is not for there health.RGI
