Good Afternoon,

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before i did a search for screed in the forum but its wasnt coming up with anything that gave me the answer.

We have just had an extension (shell completed), long story but we are no longer using the builders or their contacts for the job.

We are nearing the stage of having our rear bifolds fitted and the floor screed will need to go down soon after.

We are having the walls bonded and plastered rather than dot dab,so I was wondering should we have this done before the floor screed or after? I saw on other posts that if drylining do it after or leave a gap from sub floor to above finished floor level.

Either of the above is not a problem but was thinking id rather have the bulk of the plastering done before the bifolds go in as plasterers made a right mess on windows upstairs :-/ (though husband is not so keen on this idea)

Thanks in advance
Louise

where possible I would screed first, as to the solution surrounding messy plasterers, it is a messy trade, sheet the bifolds with polythene

I would always plaster first, then screed the floor.
As you said too, always leave a gap between the bottom of the wall and the floor surface,, a good inch/inch and a half at least,, the skirting will cover the gap.A good plasterer will always be aware of keeping things clean, but it's still wise to cover up just in case.
