hello

I am about to order a fluorescent tube. The one I am going to replace is 7ft 9 inches long (the actual tube is that length). I see that these tubes are for example 4ft, 5ft, 6ft, and 8ft. Does this mean I should buy an 8ft tube or do they actually make one that is 7ft 9inches?

thanks

You would go by the wattage and the diameter

for example 100w on the tube is 100 watt and 8 foots are still only made in 1 1/2 diameter

Most standard tubes are 1 inch diameter and older ones were 1 1/2
Length is usually milimeters
popular sizes are 1500 1800 and2400 which are 5ft 6ft 8ft

The wattage is the key factor

Don't bother with an 8ft fitting, last time I bought a tube for one it cost a small fortune!
6ft or 5ft are a lot cheaper!

Think he just wants a tube for a fitting rather that the whole kit and kaboodle.
