Hi,

In my flat I have a number of 5amp fused light switches. One of them has chipped on the side and I cannot find a replacement. The fuse is contained in a little 'pull out' horizontally below the on/of switch. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jo

One of these?

what cowboy would use those for light switches?

my guess is that all the lights are off the ring main?

If the lights are fed from the ring then an FCU is not really all that cowboyish, infact far from it.

(although supplying all the lights from the ring seems a bit odd)

that's what I was getting at..

if it is off a lighting circuit and they are being used just as light switches then it's pretty cowboyish..

if all the lights are off the power circuit then that is also pretty cowboyish however the use of fused switch spurs to fuse down isn't.. but why not run the lights from one fused spur in 1.5mm ?

Hi,
No, the fuse is in the same place but it is a proper light switch (with light switch fittings) as opposed to a fused switch spur. Its old ex-council.

Securespark, (and everyone here)
I am very sorry I have come along unprepared. If it is ok I will take a photo and put it here tomorrow.

Thank you for your help.
