I also am wondering how the sole plate is fixed to the brick course. The nails or screws through the sole plate into the brick would need to pierce the dpc and dpm. Is there a trick here to aviod this or is a bitumen sealer required around the pierced spc & dpc

I wonder what you did to your brickwork?!
? The BC chap came fir 1st inspection after bricking up garage door and side door. All is good. He asked me about how I will be contracting my studwall and said a cavity 20-50mm is std practice with at least one inner course of brick.
