Hello... just wanted a quick bit of advise.. :)

I have a garage separate from the house and it has what looks to be a reasonably new 'Radial' circuit running to it...

I've built a home office in the end of it and didnt really think much about the power... I just studded it out and mounted the existing three 2-gang sockets in the plasterboard...

It runs off a direct feed from the CU in the house on a Wylex NB20 which is in turn protected along with some other circuits on a Wylex 30mA trip.

Is this sufficient? or do I need to add another CU in the garage?

Also is this setup ok to run a heater in the winter? I'll be working out there and will probably have a couple of PC's running, a fridge freezer and maybe some tools such as soldering iron, drills etc... and of course lights.

pointer greatly appreciated

How are the lights (if any) currently wired in the garage ? There is no point fitting a CU in there off a 20A MCB as there would be no discrimination anyway. If you need to connect lights just use a switched FCU off the existing circuit.
Although borderline, if you are not planning to add anything else major, then 20A should just about see you right. (Assuming only one 3kw heater !)

Hi ricicle - really appreciate your help!

Errrmmm the lights are running off the same connection... there seems to be some Junction boxes and switches pinching power off the main feed. They're powering two 5ft florescent strip lights and I guess what was the original single lamp.

Heater wise I was just going to use one of those oil filled jobs and plug it in as needed.... hopefully with the amount of Celotex and fibre glass I've put in it wont get that cold.... my PC chucks out a fair bit of heat too! :)
