Garden cold frame top renewal

Renewing my Cold frame top holding the glass.

Should I primer all the timber parts before being put together and then putting the glass pane in last, or should the frame be glued and assembled first and sealing the glass into the frame and painting last.

you're thinking of preservation and weather protection?

I'd strip and treat all components with Cuprinol clear, then do the paint system, then assemble and glaze.

Otherwise, with it being outdoors and exposed to rain, it will be prone to rot, worst in the rebates.
