Gas certificate

If a engineer changes a part in your boiler do they have to issue a certificate afterwards to say its safe ?
 
Heavens above! You're not suggesting that a gas installer might not be declaring tax are you? :D

Seriously though with gas and electrical work as a landlord it's really an a**e covering exercise . I always do get a receipt so if something should go pear shaped I can prove I did things by the book :wink:
 

Ha ha never had one yet off one. Never can write the expense off on my tax being a landlord as you never get one !

That is just your personal experience. How can you not get any paper for your Annual LLGSC?

Maybe you should be looking for another RGI - or is your man a cheap non RGI?

He is RGI or I would not use him on a rented property especially. The only paper work I got was the gas Certificate. Can this be evidence then for my accounts ?

Gas cert is fine for covering yourself from a safety standpoint, but you need something to say how much you paid for the work to keep Mr Taxman happy.
