Has any one switched to ONE gas/electricity supplier recently??
Is it worth the move or a lot of hassel with no benefits??
And what are the saving if any?? your views welcomed.

This has been mention in the paper the other day and a survey found the saleman's are all lying because they get £10 commission for every sign up and don't give a damn about you. Have you noticed the B/Gas come round just after April for 1 month free period to see how much gas you save knowing full well the heating won't be on thinking you're saving money, my saleman couldn't get out of the house quicker enough when I've told him. And they all claim to be the cheapest than others.

My landlord has told me I'm not allowed to switch.

Can he do that? How would he know, as long as I switch back before I move?

I currently have British Gas for the gas, and Powergen for the electricity, which I'm told is the most expensive configuration I could have.

I wonder why I'm not permitted to change? (I probably should ask him...!)

that seems a bit strange ninebob

are you on payment meters that the landlord empties

if not assuming the bills come addresed to you
why not say youve been having trouble and by dealing
with one supplier you can reduce the hassle
and ask if you can swop to powergen

and see what he says

you will need the landlords agreement as the change over
from one company to another is about 6 to 8 weeks
so if you need to change back its probably greater
than the notice youve got to give him to vacate

and landlords look for any excuse not to pay back deposits

No payment meters, the bills are in my name, gas monthly by DD and electricity quarterly which I pay at the PO. I'll have a word with the landlord and find out why he doesn't want me to change.

try and say your having trouble bugeting for three
months at a time and you would rather pay monthly to
one supplier

and have a look at the lease to see if it mentions
power supply restrictions

it could be your landlord has been bitten by other tennants
and thinks your trying to poo on him
so be reasuring and be diplomatic he might respect you for it

Thanks for your input. I will stay as I am . Thanks again.
