Gas Explosion Caused By DIY JOb

A few years ago my elderly grandparents had work done. I kept complaining of a strange gas like smell (for over a year!!). My (v stubborn) elderly GPs refused to pay anyone to come and look at it - I don't think they could smell it. Eventually my dad said he'd pay for a (qualified) plumber. The guy was shocked to find that blue mdpe water pipe had been used to pipe a gas supply to a cooker in the outbuilding. He refused to leave and despite their protests disconnected the whole set up.. Grandparents still begrudge this to today
Mrs Sheds has been complaining about that, intermittently, for much longer.
