Hi experts,

We have a 5 ring gas hob and one of the burners has never worked. Today we have lost another. Both seem to work whilst holding the starter down but once I let it off it's like the gas stops.

Is there a realistic fix for this or is it time for a new one?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It may be fixable, but gas repairs are not DIY work, and this site does not permit DIY gas advice either.

Possibly thermo couple dead , heat from flame keeps the gas flow open, if this fails then it turns of the gas to that burner .Hold old is hob?

Does it have thermocouples? What is the pressure at the meter and appliance? Is the flame blue? Is the flame lifting off? Is the injector blocked?Have you caused a gas leak messing about with it?
