Gas Safe again//

When I registered with CORGI some years ago,a regional inspector come out to 'interview' me,look at my certs and ask me a few questions.He spent over an hour with me then decided I was good enough to go on their register.NOW I hear that Gas Safe do not send a regional inspector to a prospective candidates home.Instead they put them on the register(after sighting their certs and receiving their big fat fee) and 'monitor' them for six months!I'm totally aghast.

one of our guys registered just before xmas,and he had to have a sit down etc.so sounds like no change there then.think the only change is that they now register you before having the interview. were as when it was corgi you had to have the interview before joining.i think thats right.anyway

Yes that is the case.
I done G-S not long ago and have been on the register but am due to have my visit/interview very soon.
they call it the probation period and mine was for about 2 months i think.
