Gas Safety Test

for starters

RS = room sealed,

and i'll let someone else have a go next :D

Am I reading that cert right-it says 29.5 mbar on the main medway water heater-ok if it is lpg but they have a meter so?? :?

That Gas Safety Check is virtually useless. He hasn't checked the flues or the terminals. These are crucial to the safe operation of balanced flue appliances. No excuse for not checking them. Report him to Corgi.

No, it says 29.95kW input. Sounds about right, but if he'd bothered to take the case off he could have taken the burner pressure (and checked the flue!).

HALLWAY, USUALLY LEADS FROM FRONT DOOR TO VARIOUS OUTHER ROOMS.IS THAT ANY HELP?
Ho ho ho

I mean the milibars, flue types and so on which mean nothing to me, and also the items listed under faults (I have a general knowledge of earth bonding and am aware that I have none, but why would this get listed on a gas check?)

LPG? No, this is an ordinary gas-supplied flat.

Checking flues- I can see how this could be difficult as it's a flat in a tower block and I wouldn't know where it vents to, presumably the roof which is inaccessible...

Any more comments?

Probably SE or U duct system, so terminals wouldn't be visible but flue duct would be. Did he take the cover off the water heater?

It was a she, apparently!

I have no idea exactly what she did because I wasn't here, Shaun just let her get on with it and took the bit of paper! If it'd been me I'd have asked for explanations of everything as she went through it.

I'm concerned now - would a pic of the boilers in their location help?

If you have no earth bonding to meter i thought you should have had a certificate to sign or non-compliant earth bonding. Maybe i,m a bit strict but i wont issue the certificate if the landlord wont earth bond as per regs. Would u class a se or u duct as room sealed.?

thought se dunct and u duct had to be room sealed? :?

Where's your gas meter? Did she check that while the water heater was running?

yep and whats the wall outside if applicable
Flat is on 15th floor of a 16 floor block, the boilers are in an internal airing cupboard in the middle of the flat, so nowhere near any external walls, hence why I said I suspect they vent upwards to the roof (inaccessible, as I said so I can kind of understand her not being able to cleck the flue)

Gas meter is in a different cupboard. Shaun wasn't paying attention to exactly what she did but he says she did turn on the kitchen tap and leave it running for about 10 minutes, cos he thought it a bit of a waste!
