General use chainsaw

Considering a sthil ms271 18" bar saw. Any thoughts? Yes aware of PPE necessities.

Its a good saw, Eddie - certainly well up from the hobby range (MS 170 /180).....traditional chain tensioning and built to last. Not the lightest machine around!

Thanks, don't want to go for the punyest saw. Yeah it is a little weighty, but there's life in the old dog yet. Think i'll go for it.

Be safe with it - a great tool for sawing logs on the deck, a bit of a booger if you are up a tree - I use a MS180 for that - dead easy to drop start.

It'll be reet. Safety, yes paramount fully aware they take zero prisoners.
