Seems to be in a bad way

It’s so bad that the government has legalised happy drugs prior to any more bad news

In the hope that when the bad news is released most Germans will be so bombed out of there eads they won’t notice

;)

And if Germany sneezes we catch a cold. The whole EU including the UK need to work on a strategy to produce more here and rely less on imports. given the goings in the world. That's why I voted remain, because of the emerging status, and threat, of russsia and chinna as world powers. The EU needs to stick together economically and militarily like never before especially given the US increasing isolationism. It's tragic that we have adopted a little islander mentality because of historic hatred of europe.

We're still in NATO aren’t we?

I agree.
The biggest threat to the first world is China.
To destroy the economy they would just need to stop exporting for a couple of months.
We would be doomed.
We should stop importing everything from China and restart production here.
One thing Trump was fixing was the steel tax on import.
Immediately everyone started buying US steel, being same price or cheaper than the low quality chinese one.
We should do the same with everything else.
I try to avoid buying chinese rubbish, but many times there's no alternative.
And all chinese rubbish doesn't last long, so it's a matter of buying cheap, buy twice (or several times).

News reporting at the moment is quite strange. One of the reasons for the recent run against the pound was that the BOE hadn't acted fast and hard enough with an interest rate rise. The ECB today doubled it's interest rate to 1.5%, ours is 2.25%, WTF?.

Utter utter utter bollux. We have a tariff and and quota free trade deal with the EU more far reaching than any deal they have with other countries. We need to iron out a few differences over the NI protocol etc but intransigence on the part of the EU is the main hurdle. As for millitary assistance, are we doing less than Europe in assisting Ukraine, are we not along with the USA leading the way?

**** me.

The EU is and always has been a protectionist organisation skewing trade to protect themselves and **** other countries/continents, UK as a founder member of the WTO has always and always will be a champion of free trade, a champion of everything the EU appears to stand against.

How on earth can the EU be blamed for intransigence over the NI protocol.

If it wasnt what we wanted why did we sign it?

Stop blaming others for our own made problems and accept responsibilty. We have nobody else to blame but ourselves (boris) for the mess we are in.

We need some of that protectionism. Taking back control has produced third rate fantasist politicians like Trussed. We had a long secure marriage with the EU, no reason not to re marry or at least have some form of civil partnership. St Teresa will be treated well by history for her efforts and would have avoided the problems with the NI situation

On the contraire being in the eu for over forty years has reduced our political class to nothing more than rubber stampers in a glorified clearing house (Westminster) for eu dictats. Now when they have to take responsibility again they are found wanting.
In the recent Italian election Von de Leyen was issuing veiled threats that if the voters didn't vote the 'right' way funds maybe not be forthcoming. Where have we heard all that before.

Where should we start? .
The whole standard of living enjoyed by the working classes in Europe and America is predicated on cheap labour from the far east.
