Glow Worm 15xi:Hot water but no CH

Mum has just moved into a new house,after a 8 month delay.Fired up boiler .Hot water seems fine but no central heating.There is an old Honeywell room stat which may be at fault.Could it be that the motorised valve is not responding,or perhaps not getting a signal?Any help would be appreciated before onset of winter.

Or it may be getting a signal and the synchron motor is goosed. Ideally you need a meter to check it out

Are the synchron motors a generic feature-I know a Drayton model costs around £15.

What make valves do you have?

I managed to get the Ch to work by tapping the pump with a bit of timber.The valves are Honeywell,and look like something from the 70s.I shall probably put in a new set of controls.
