Hello

Looking at glowworm 15kw hxi manual ,looking on seeing how the safety device would work and how quick it should shut the gas valve down.but it has no information in the manual at all?? very confused about that

This is for a project in college .

Also you cant check burner pressure so i would gather you would do a gas rate test when you commission boiler this would be in m3/h or fft3/hr
is this correct.

you can't check the burner pressure on this boiler as it has a zero guvenor and fan speed dictates gas used. Gas rating and co2 testing with a fga is the only option. The boiler will lock out on f1 or f4 when testing the ffd using the "blip" method on a water gauge.

Thanks dangermouse46

help what is fga

How would you use a blip method on water gauge

is this where you would turn off gas tap while boiler is running and see how long it go's to lockout. {usual 2 or 3 seconds}

also is the max time aloud 60 secs before valve shuts off.

Thanks

fga - flue gas analyser

isn't a blip test any more just an audile click

Flame rec should drop out within 1s

blip test is using the manometer on the burner pressure test point then isolating the burner whilst on. waiting for it to lockout then turning back on and making sure the manometer levels dont move, as this would indicate the gas valve passing by.bit more to it than that but hope you get the most of my explanation.

Thanks for responses so you cant do a gas rate test with boiler full on and record over 2 mins at meter{m3/hr} the subtract the differance from start to finish then x30 = to give m3/hr

you should really be asking your collage tutor about these questions or read up on them at least.gas rating is to make sure your getting the input stated on the appliance, the only true way to test if somthings burning right.

To gas rate you would have to tell the boiler to run at max so it doesn't modulate down.

Make sure that you use your best Barbara Cartland voice as well, or it'll take no notice. :LOL:
