I have a Gmail address which I have used for years, Cant even remember how I originally set it up.
Over the last few years I am getting inundated with unsolicited Mail Filth/Pornography.
I am getting maybe 200 of these day which I have filtered to Junk. The problem is that they still appear in the Junk or Trash folder and clutter up the account, so on a daily basis I have to select these unwanted messages and delete them. Then the next day another 200 or so unwanted unsolicited mails arrive and I have to do the same thing again. The filth May be filed somewhere else of which I am not aware. It would appear my e-address has found its way to the filth pedlars who for some reason of which I cannot understand keep sending they filth to my e-address.
The only way I can think of to get rid of the problem would be to delete my Gmail address and open a new one in another name so these filth pedlars don't have it (Yet).
Can someone advise me how best to do this.
When I go onto my Goggle account I am presented with a myriad of options which may delete 'Stuff' I don't want to delete and as such disable my Google Account.
SO I am struggling to know haw to safely do it.
All I want to achieve is delete my present email address and replace it with a different one so as to rid myself of the filth I am getting inundated with.
Can anyone advise me on what to do and how to do it.

Your Email maybe registered to a few things
1) Used as a recovery account email for other services
2) Used for other services , like amazon , bank , etc etc, its amazing just how many services use the email address
3) If you forget your password to a service , it will want to use your old email address to recover or change the password, and if you no longer have access to the account , then it can be very difficult to sort out , especially as so many services have noone to contact

you could setup a rule in gmail to automatically delete the email. depends on how unique you can filter it - quite a complicated filter using AND or OR boolean formulas

I have quite a few rules setup to automatically delete loads of emails from all sorts of unwanted sources

Are you logging into gmail via a web browser or using a program to access and read / send emails ?

BUT if you really do want to delete your email and create a new one - considering the above possible issues
then

All I want to achieve is delete my present email address and replace it with a different one
Then you can delete your gmail account

I would keep the email address just in case i need to sort any thing out that I may have missed , Or for sites where they need an email address use this old one as a spam type email - I have a few email accounts
My main account i use personally

1 for forums like this -
1 for spam type websites, that i'm not sure about.
and then
Create a New account in gmail
and then tell all contacts

To be honest Freddiemercurystwin, I have no idea if the emails are from different sources as I automatically send them to Junk or Trash folder, I delete them from these folders byCAPS?select which highlights all of them then simply delete and they all go away . I did this this morning and already now I have 145 mails in my Junk folder ready to delete again. My other concerns are that I may be deleting some important mails in this filth list which may have be inadvertently routed to Junk and with out reading them all I will never know.
Just what these filth pedlars do it for never ceases to amaze me, but it is causing me an awful lot of effort trying to deal with it.
Another example of the bad side of the Internet.

Thanks ETAF, they issues you refer to are the very reason I am very wary of deleting my e-address. I think may be as you suggest I leave it in tact and set up another account and tell all that legally contact me including Banks etc, of my new e-address.
My worry is always that as these filthy mails are getting into my computer and there maybe illegal stuff in there which is very repulsive and if I just leave them all there it is filling my desktop with unsolicited filth which in the event of some authorities wanting to see what is in my machine, this filth will be in there and for reasons for which I don't understand could incriminate me as being a 'weiro'.

If you simply delete the emails, gmail will not learn.

Instead - simply scan the titles, and mark them as spam on your online gmail account - this will teach gmail that they are spam, and gmail will gradually learn to filter more of them into the spam folder for you. They then get automatically deleted after 30 days.

You will then find that the amount of spam getting through the gmail spam filters will reduce over time. Mine now runs at about 1 spam email a week getting through the filters.

If you decide to change emails - there is no need to delete your existing account - just set up a new one, start using it, and leave your old one dormant - that way if there are emails in there, or it's linked to other accounts you use, you can still access it if you need to.
(I have 57,997 emails in my gmail inbox that I sometimes refer back to!)

OK i am not an IT buff, but, I was getting some three or four Spam mails a day, I deleted my browsing history and cookies from my browser [Chrome] and i am now getting one spam mail every two days?

Not sure if the above action is a coincidence, it is almost as if a cookie embedded in the computer was acting as an attractant for other spam, despite running Spy Ware and anti spam software.

I can’t remember the last time I had a spam email to either my personal or business gmail account. I quite miss them!

I don't miss them. On Talktalk (ex-Tiscali) I was inundated with them, after they were hacked a few years ago and constant phishing phone calls. So bad, I changed ISP and none at all now. I have a gmail account, but nothing ever appears in that.

As mentioned above, simply mark them as spam then ignore them.
You do not have to go into your spam folder and delete them, having them there is how gmail learns that they are spam, leave them there.
The only reason to go into your spam folder (perhaps once a week) is to scan through and check for any emails that you are expecting.
If there is someone that you want to receive emails from simply add them to your address book and they will not be marked as spam, if an email turn up in your spam folder you can select it and mark it as not spam.

I too get hundreds of spam mails but these days they all end up in the spam folder so do not worry me.
Although I would be quite keen to know more about these lovely young ladies that want to send me photo's of themselves in states of undress... lol

On the basis of nothing except common sense Id be surprised if there was anything illegal there - I would expect those in the illegal porn business would do their utmost to stay under the radar.

Which authorities, and why?

this filth will be in there and for reasons for which I don't understand could incriminate me as being a 'weiro'.
I dont think its a crime to be weird.

If you dont want them why not just turn them off on the site instead of treating them as spam when they arrive?

and the odd offer to enlarge my cock!
"Odd" as in "infrequent" or as in "strange"? :sneaky:

I remember one time when two streams of spam were arriving at the same time thinking "Ooh - which should I do first, make it work properly or make it bigger?" :ROFLMAO:

Hi StephenStephen,
By Scan your emails I assume you mean visually scan them. I get that many, I would probably miss any imprtant mails in the long list.
I do not have a Spam Folder, all I have is Jumk and Trash folders, are these the same thing.
I reckon after getting some very useful replies, the thing to do is let the filth sit in my trash folders and lett gmailidentify the problem mails.
