Going EV

Problem with new cars is that 75% of people buy on looks and only have a passing interest in what's under the bonnet. And when your wife sees how cute those Renault 5 EVs are, all the anti EV stuff goes straight out of the window.

I think it looks like a lego car.
I also find teslas ugly.

Im considering going EV as I quite fancy the idea now and it suits my lifestyle.
I may look at a Tesla model 3 as there have been some decent 2 year lease deals around, ideally would want new. They seem to be the most respected with regards to the user experience.
Have you made the switch and enjoyed it?

Feel free to PM me if you want. I've been driving one as a company car since November 2022 and have been very pleasantly surprised. Of course, being a company car, I appreciate it's a "special case", financially, but as a car, I've been very pleasantly surprised. Might not have gone for one if I couldn't charge at home though. That's the game-changer.

Couple of things to look at. Government bringing in a 3p per mile tax on electric in 2027 = £150 per 5000m. Also get some insurance quotes as insurance company's have been hit hard on some claims. Also the cost of a service over 5 years.
One last thing is fast electric charging is around the same price as petrol.
