Someone should start a just giving page to sponsor him to have a nice rest.

You should have asked him first. Unfortunately servicemen end up homeless as they find it hard to transition from army life to home life which causes troubles and splits.

I wouldn't be too quick to judge.

Hehe as someone else pointed out I was attempting a bit of humour read my reply again

And for the record I fking hate all these foreign charities etc we should be homing our ex servicemen and women first and foremost.. its a national disgrace.

Still going!

Some on here would call you a xenophobe. Not me. Always said charity begins at home. (y)

Funny, I thought that, as a (normally) wealthy country, we can do both.

Some of us don't think that we should be relying on Charity to uphold the armed forces covenant. That's what we have a government for.

I think we should rely on charitable contributions to pay MP's wages.

Obviously you’ve not donated. If you had, you would have seen the message that there are no fees being taken from this. Instead, donators are being asked to pay towards the processing. I paid 50p (5%) on top of my tenner. That was the minimum you could pay so they will be earning a minimum of £650,000 on 13 mil.

The minimum is zero, which what I chose to pay them.

I don't support multinational tax-dodgers.

I couldn’t find a zero. Default was 15% and the other two options that I saw was 10% and 5%. I thought it was a bit of a cheek but as I wanted to donate, I chose 5%.

Media is now on the bandwagon arguing he should be knighted!!.. WHY? - He's a veteran who has served his Queen and Country with honour who decided to do his bit to support the NHS by raising £1000. He is probably exhausted with the continuous media coverage and wondering what all the fuss is about.
The fact the figure is now £20m+ is immaterial.
And yes, I have donated as a veteran myself ;)

Here’s the old fellas song. I hope it’s number one on his birthday. As expected he has the voice, tone and timing of a 99 year old but listening to it on the radio the other day when I was walking home from my daily dog walk, it made me more than a bit tearful - thankfully I had my sunglasses on otherwise I’d have looked a right numpty. I must be getting soft in my old age!
