Just had a quote from a couple of plumbers to replace the 1975 Gas boiler and vented system to a Combi

Work will include replacing all pipes (previous person was into DIY and the pipe work goes all over the place)

3 double 4 single and plan whit towel radiator (Quinn Round Top)
Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior

£3250 (Leicester) all in (sound good) though have had quotes up to 4K for the same system

Also if we wanted to go to a 30CDI is + £200 reasonable?
and are the Strelad radiator any good / cheaper as i like the softline compared to the Quinn

The CDi is a much better boiler, although I would go for the Atmos or Avanta, if you insist on a combi.

Not much to choose from any of the radiators if they're installed correctly.

I would insist on a magnaclean at that price.

Softline is a nice rad and difference would not be a lot with quinns. It all depends where guy gets materials from as some do different rads with heat packs.
But if you want softlines they should be pricing for softlines.
Overall Price is reasonable aswell

I am suspicious when it comes to installers that recommend WB i series for a domestic customer; the CDI is much better, and the installation costs are the same. Why quote for a mediocre boiler, if another 6% gives you a topquality one?
Has he mentioned anything about cleaning the system? About upgrading the gaspipe? Controls? Trv's?

Didn't read the post as rads replaced too, but if they are, suppose you don't need to be too worried about cleaning the system.

if you use copper the flux/grease in the pipes plus the old residue in new radiators,plastic will still have swarfs plus debris and residues but apart from that it will all be clean in theory

In all honesty, I was referring to cleaning out the old system.
After the boiler is installed, it obviously always needs flushing.

Nothing said about cleaning the system though as other people have suggested will it need it controls TRV and gaspiping included i dont think you can have a new system without unless its completely doggy
