Good screw set and bit

Tool station forge master, screwfix turbo are all good general purpose screws.

But use good quality bits, like others have suggested. It's the tool that's more important for the type of use you need

DO NOT buy the Toolstation forge master screws.
They're horrible and the bit that comes with it is made of a very soft metal.
I bought a pack of 25mm to try them and for the first time in my life I threw screws away.
They're not even good for the allotment.

Hence the point, go for good quality bits, the screws themselves are plenty good enough for light diy use. As the professionals on here have also said

Have you tried them?
They're truly the worst screws I ever used.
The standard woodscrews from Toolstation are better and have a standard pozi drive.
Even diyers should try decent screws to understand the difference.
As said, the turbo silver/gold from screwfix are decent at a reasonable price.
