Greenland is already a member of NATO and the US is obliged to come to their aid if attacked - should provide some free entertainment for the lawyers when it all kicks off.

I think everyone agrees that he’s been offered everything he could need.
It is more likely that Trump is actually going mad. He has become addicted to power. And he now needs ever bigger fixes to fill the empty hole where his soul should be. His recent behaviour has been very worrying, such as claiming in a major interview that the only limit on his power is his own morality.
