Creationism hasn't been banned, that's the problem.
And I agree, some UK schools are really screwed up, and that includes Christian / Catholic ones.

You said this: "America has made it illegal to teach evolution in schools."

It is not true.
Nothing to add.

We are talking about a country that believes the answer to guns is more guns.

So its quite logical that the teaching of evolution would be illegal.

One thing is certain schools teaching or not teaching a subject, a different thing is to twist reality and say that across a continent creationism has been banned.
I don't know the stats, but i wouldn't be surprised if there were more schools in uk that don't teach creationism than in USA.

It's one of the many things you don't know. Facts being one of them.

Allowing for the six times population in the US, I would hope there were.

Have you got that the right way round?

Percentage wise, of course.
Do we have to spell out these things???
So - what was your point, then?

The US is being mocked for having schools that teach (only) creationism and you reply that you wouldn't be surprised if The UK has fewer.

you'd be right to think that. Teaching of creationism has been banned from a large number of UK schools.

Do you have a link for that, or did you make it up all on your own.

It's not illegal to teach evolution in the US as it was in recent times...

However in many states in doing so teachers face dismissal for not sticking to the 'common core'...

So go figure if that has the same effect ;)

As to notchy's post then it appears that given the gun casualty rate, the USA should collectively be awarded the 'Darwin Award' !

There is about as much evidence for Darwins theory as there is for creationism.

I just wish they'd teach kids the 3 R's, write from wrong, how to stand up to bullies, the value of £money & the importance of being on time etc. etc. etc . . .
