:?:  :?: Help! There is a grinding noise coming from beneath the car when I turn the corners or when I take the roundabouts, any idea what it could be?

I have a Skoda Felicia N reg, which has been pretty good in the 9 years I've had it. I dont know anything about cars  and I dont want to get billed for something major  if it is only something minor. :(

Your CV joints have gone. Not an easy DIY job I'm afraid.

Along with the CV joint, could also possibly be the rubber suspension bushes.

I used to have a '97 Passat that has the same noise problem on corners.
Not sure if your Skoda had VW involved with them by then, but this is a known issue with Passats, ans (VW underneath) Audi A4.

VW wanted to replace the whole suspension arm setup (about 5 bushes per wheel, at a cost of about £500!! I know, just for little rubber bushes! Put me off VW for life

An indie mechanic would probably do replacements for £100, but he really needs to find out which bush is the problem.
