I'd guess it's just another shining example of the Honeywell effect (owned MK for 15 years)...cheapen down your product line and destroy any great reputation you once had.
Honeywell pcbs are in many boilers, time clocks, zone valves, smart stats....none of it rated in the trade anymore...overpriced junk.
Of course they know that architects/specifiers still buy into the brand despite the trades knowing it's poor quality and often poor value for money.

I think the architects know it's poo too, but specify MK because many of the clients still demand it.

Didn't know about this cheap range.

Presumably the expensive MK range will still be available?

This cheap range doesn't appear to have the MK logo on the sockets.

Looks like all the other unremarkable cheapo stuff currently available from other companies.

Honeywell..... The problem is the firm is so big they balls everything up. What they tend to do is buy a company for everything it has and why they are successful and then they have an uncanny knack of the new management deciding in order to "improve" the brand what they really need to do is, reduce the quality by using cheap material's, increase the cost because they believe that's what the "brand" demands, then proceed to make the product almost unobtainable and provide the most shocking customer service they could possibly find.

This isn't unique to Honeywell though, there are many brands that do similar.

Hopefully this new stuff will bring mk back, the old square MK's from yester year were great piece of kit, just look rubbish now
