As above, can anyone recommend a heavy duty commercial kitchen degreaser to clean grease/oils in the kitchen, particularly on the kitchen units, hood, extractor hood, ceiling and walls.

Thanks

Zinsser do one

I use a mix of astonish or pink stuff brand general cleaner with washing up liquid and a bit of water and give the surface a scrub

, working from the base

Then clean off with a fresh water rag , sponge etc etc

Zinser Universal ....red spray bottle

Very good but expensive

Virosol mentioned above is what a lot of kitchens use or sugar soap or general cream cleaner and detergent

....wear gloves!

+1 for Virosol.

It is alkali based, so as above wear gloves (to be honest, I normally don't bother).

I've found alkine cleaners will stain aluminium and alloys.

Good call. Yeah, having just checked, they do say not to use it on aluminium.

That said, I can't think of anything in my kitchen that is aluminium rather than stainless steel. I might be wrong though.

Also happens in dishwasher. I've stopped buying aluminium utensils and pans for that reason. My previous cooker had some aluminum trim.

Still got a K-beater. The stainless one retails at about £60

and oddments like garlic squidger.

Get a 5 litre tank of no-nonsense degreaser from screwfix.
I use it for bike parts and it destroys the grease in no time.
Safe on all metals and plastic.

Methylene chloride is often used by tool workers to degrease but it is a restricted product and considered to be carcinogenic. I still use it as a paint stripper though.
