hello everyone

hi everyone..new member here..and im starting today with a tech question about my ford escort van. its a "55" p-reg and for some reason the airbag light keeps flashing when i drive. i have checked this out and apparently its giving me a fault code of 4 flashes then a pause..then 4 flashes etc etc. ive cleaned and checked the yellow plugs under each of the seats but it still flashes.......

anyone know where i camn go next with this (i have tried removing battery for 5 secs but that didnt work either)

It might be the " seat belt pre tensioner" ( under the seats) disconnect the battery for a couple of hours before you mess with the thing, if the air bag goes off i your face it could break your neck.

Are you sure it was 4 and pause? Can't see a fault code like that,

Code Fault
1-1-1 OK: No faults detected in the OBD system
1-1-2 Internal fault in the sensor unit
1-2-7 SRS lamp, short circuit or break in circuit
2-1-1 Steering wheel module, short circuit in wiring
2-1-2 Steering wheel module, break in wiring
2-1-3 Steering wheel module, short circuit to ground
2-1-4 Steering wheel module, short circuit to +12V
2-2-1 Passenger module, short circuit in wiring
2-2-2 Passenger module, break in wiring
2-2-3 Passenger module, short circuit to ground
2-2-4 Passenger module, short circuit to +12V
2-3-1 Seat belt tensioner left, short circuit in wiring
2-3-2 Seat belt tensioner left, break in wiring
2-3-3 Seat belt tensioner left, short circuit to ground
2-3-4 Seat belt tensioner left, short circuit to +12V
2-4-1 Seat belt tensioner right, short circuit in wiring
2-4-2 Seat belt tensioner right, break in wiring
2-4-3 Seat belt tensioner right, short circuit to ground

No code SRS lamp in the instrument cluster does not light
No code Fault in diagnostic output

thanks for those fault code read-outs....will try and thing again and see what the code really is. one quick question though...when you listed 1-2-3..for example does that mean..1..pause...2 quick flashes..pause....3 quick flashes etc??

helloo...i checked the flashes and it def sems to been 4 flashes then pause..then 4 flashes...i studied the light hard and after 2 mins my eyes were going crossed!! it happens when im driving these flashes and wont go off and its the same every time...flash, flash, flash, flash..pause..flash flash etc etc

any ideas???

just a thought...are we talking about the same light here...cos im talking baout the one on the dashboard. just thought you might be giving me these codes from some osrt of diagnostic tool or something (which i dont have)
