Been on the electrical forums of late and thought I'd join this one...so hello from me!

I want to do domestic installations as a profession and having just passed EAL's Level 2 VRQ - I am up to speed with Part P.

However, with no real practical experience, I was wondering what my options were in starting out, what sort of equipment I'd need to invest in to be able to test and how I'd go about looking for work.

I haven't done my major and minor work yet so cannot join NIC, but as I have passed my competency test, just wondered if I could do installations for real.

No offense meant, but without any experience, I would suggest that you look to get a job with an electrical contractor firm. Get some time on the tools before branching out on your own.
