Over the phone MOT's are difficult to get now the system is all online with VOSA. They can sit outside your workshop on a PDA and tell as soon as you clock a car on and then walk in to see if the car is there.

They also know how long you have taken and will print only a pass ticket until after 40 mins or so.

You can still get an MOT Stevie Wonder style but you really have to know the test station or offer the guy a big drink to put his livelihood on the line.

Centres are categorised under a traffic light system.

If you are classed as green you get very little bother

Amber you have done something a little dubious and been caught and you will be monitored

Red They are all over you like **** on a blanket

That wouldn't help them any as the system will only accept a pass ticket after 40 mins

They also know how late you are working and you will get a warning message pop up if you are working outside of your disclosed hours
