Help me fit this light fitting

Really don't see the need for this cable. There is only one height for it, otherwise it'll be hanging by the cable?

Obviously I see the need for the cable but can't fathom why this extra length

ok, so the only way (for me) would be to pull the cable up into the rose and pack it in there

Yes.I assume there is a terminal block that came with the fitting,and your supply cable going into it. So there should be plenty of space to accommodate 100mm of flex ?

I'll give it a go, yes a terminal block. Its actually 115mm so reasonably good guess. I'll get it down an get it pulled through

The only reason it's done like that so it can fit into a smaller box, which makes shipment cheaper.
