This is what I would do ….download an app like Fing or network scanner ….check what’s on your network , it should give a list of all, devices ….make note ….now connect camera , hold in reset and power up ( this will probably default ip settings and it should pick up new ip address…give it 5 mins …now re scan with Fing ect …there should be an extra IP address listed , take note …type in the new address in web browser …with a bit of luck it should bring up a log in screen ….then go from there…

No need....

If the OP uses a PC, which doesn't have a designated IP setup, then all he need do is connect it via a LAN cable to the camera, and scan, using a network scanner. It should find the camera's IP.

Having found the IP, the OP then needs to simply browse to the IP, and will be invited to log in, using username and password. The username, is often 'username', and password is often 'password', or 0000, or something similar - both will be in the manual, if the OP finds the correct manual.

What is a net work scanner?

A piece of software, that scans, a range of network IP's, to see if it can get a response. IP scanner will do what you want, but you will need to make a guess at what IP range to scan - 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.100 might find it.

But I dot know of ay that run on linux. Unless you do that is?

If I cant get the SD card working via the eithernet port. What about getting hold of a recording box pluged in between the BNC port on the camera and the Scart cable on the TV. I Have 4 working cameras at the moment, so somethin that could record the anolog signal of 3 camera all at once and last for 30 days and record on a loop should do the job

If you cant sort out the network side then I wouldn’t bother , you can pick up a 5mp waterproof camera for around £20 and probably a cheap dvr for around £100..

Do you have any links to any cameras and dvr's (what ever that is?) for around the price mark you mention. That you know of, that are of sound working quality please?
